Dymension, Home of the RollApps
Dymension is a freshly deployed L1 blockchain powering the Internet of RollApps (L2), a network of easily deployable and lightning fast app-chains. Dymension itself is a PoS blockchain functioning as the RollApp Hub, the centre of the network of L2 blockchains (RollApps). Their mainnet went live recently and was accompanied by a huge RollDrop. Besides RollApps it also has its own virtual machine and its own Hub AMM.
RollApps
Dymension’s RollApps are easily deployable, lightning-fast modular app chains, that accrue token value with greater security without requiring a validator set. RollApps are IBC enabled, they inherit the full security of the Dymension blockchain, not needing to rely on multisig smart contracts. Dymension plays a similar role to a server in a traditional web application. It orchestrates the network by handling requests from RollApps and facilitating communication among them.
RollApp Virtual Machine (RVM)
Dymension introduces a novel dispute-resolution mechanism which simulates a RollApp execution environment within the Dymension Hub. The Dymension Hub spins up an RVM instance which is being fed with the exact context of a given transaction, resulting in a deterministic output. As such, Dymension is capable of supporting various execution environments.
Embedded Hub AMM
Dymension embeds a native Automated Market Maker (AMM) into the Dymension Hub to achieve shared liquidity on top of shared security. The AMM is designated for RollApp facilitation and is regarded as essential infrastructure for RollApps. The embedded AMM is the sole applicative logic on the Dymension Hub which is not restricted for RollApp usage only.
